Hi, I’m Simone Ruddle

Finding a psychologist that is a good fit can be tricky. Here’s a bit more information about me so you know who you are talking to.

I was born and raised in Ōtautahi Christchurch. Outside of my clinical work, I love creating art, tramping and adventures, and spending time with my partner & pets.

I completed 8 years of psychology training and research at the University of Canterbury, earning a Masters of Science in Forensic Psychology. Then I completed my clinical training to achieve my registration as a Clinical Psychologist.

I have experience working in Community Mental Health as a Complex Case Coordinator, Specialist Mental Health Services at Hillmorton Hospital, and as a clinician at Ara Poutama (New Zealand Corrections). This included work in the specialist Anxiety Disorders Service.

Previous clinical experience has inlcuded both adolescents and adults with a range of mental health disorders, including individual and group based interventions. As a scientist-practitioner, I employ an integrationist approach to evidenced-based treatment modalities (types of therapy), including Cognitive Behavoural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectcal Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I am also familiar with Metacognitive Therapy (MCT), and Schema and MI Approaches.
